BEIJING: China’s Ministry of Water Resources activated a level-four emergency response for flood risks in the eastern province of Shandong and the southwestern province of Sichuan on Monday.
The ministry said that heavy rains will lash areas of Sichuan and Shandong from Tuesday to Friday, leading to the rising of the water level in the rivers, according to Xinhua.
According to the ministry, multiple rivers are likely to see water levels exceed their warning lines.
In China, there is a four-tier flood control emergency response system, and level one is the most severe response.
