Five Pakistani Players Reach Semi-finals at Asian Junior Squash Championship

ISLAMABAD: Five Pakistani players on Thursday advanced to the semi-finals of the 32nd Asian Junior Individual Squash Championships in South Korea, marking a strong performance by the country’s rising squash talent.

With unyielding focus and fierce determination, each Pakistani player swept past their opponents in flawless 3-0 victories, underscoring the nation’s rising dominance in the sport.

The court echoed with the sound of relentless rallies and pinpoint shots, showcasing the young athletes’ mastery and hunger for glory.

In the Boys U-19 category, third seed Abdullah Nawaz showcased his tactical brilliance and physical endurance, dispatching Hong Kong’s Wong Wing Kuen with commanding straight sets of 11-4, 11-6, 11-6.

Not far behind, top seed Nauman Khan carved through India’s Harshal Rana with clinical precision in the Boys U-15 division, securing a decisive 11-6, 11-5, 11-7 win.

Ahmad Rayyan Khan added to the Pakistani triumphs with a sweeping 11-7, 11-3, 11-3 victory over Malaysia’s Armann Merzha bin Ashraff, while the youngest champion, Muhammad Sohail Adnan, dominated the Boys U-13 category by overpowering India’s Abhyuday Arora 11-2, 11-8, 11-2.

On the women’s front, Mahnoor Ali carved her path into the semifinals with a commanding performance, dismantling India’s Anika Kalanki 11-6, 11-2, 11-3, adding another feather to Pakistan’s cap.

However, not all dreams marched forward. Sehrish Ali’s valiant campaign was halted in the Girls U-15 quarterfinals, where Malaysia’s Syaurah A Sufian handed her a 3-0 defeat, underscoring the fierce competition at this elite stage.
