KARACHI: First death anniversary of famous Pakistani playback singer Nayyara Noor observed on Sunday.
Fans of the singer known as the ‘Nightingale of Pakistan’ paid rich tributes for her unforgettable contribution to the music ndustry on social media and other platforms.
First Death Anniversary of Renowned Singer Nayyara Observed
Nayyara Noor was born in the Indian state of Assam in 1950, however, she moved to Pakistan with her family afterwards.
Having no professional music training, the singer got her first break on Radio Pakistan in 1968 later she was introduced at PTV.
She sang many patriotic songs, including Watan Ki Mitti Gawah Rehna and also gave countless hits to Pakistani films. She is known for singing Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s poetry.

In 2006 she was awarded Pride of Performance Award in recognition of her contributions to the music industry.
She retired from singing in 2012 and spent the rest of her life as a homemaker. She passed away on August 20, 2022 in Karachi.
