KARACHI: A fire erupted on the fourth floor of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) building on Karachi’s I. I. Chundrigar Road on Monday, according to fire brigade officials.
Upon receiving the alert, the fire brigade promptly dispatched three fire hydrants to the scene to combat the blaze.
Authorities are diligently working to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other parts of the building. The people inside the PSX building were quickly evacuated to the parking lot for their safety. Officials reported that the fire was caused by short-circuiting.
Trading at the stock exchange was suspended following the incident. Efforts are ongoing to assess the damage and restore normal operations.
