ISLAMABAD: The 106th anniversary of Finland’s Independence Day was celebrated in Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, on Wednesday. The event witnessed the presence of several diplomats, embassy staff, and media representatives.
Ambassador Hannu Ripatti presided over the ceremony held at the embassy to commemorate Finland’s Independence Day. A cake-cutting ceremony was also held on the occasion.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador Ripatti highlighted Finland’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Pakistan. He expressed eagerness to collaborate with Pakistan in various mutually beneficial areas.
During the address, the ambassador emphasized Finland’s ongoing efforts in diverse fields within Pakistan. He mentioned the collaborative initiatives, particularly in education and vocational training, aimed at enhancing the partnership between the two countries.
Ambassador Ripatti assured that the embassy’s engagement would continue to grow, building on the progress achieved since its reopening last year.
It is pertinent to mention here that Finland had reopened its embassy in Pakistan after a ten-year hiatus, reflecting a renewed commitment to diplomatic ties between the two countries.
