ISLAMABAD: In the FIFA World Cup 2022 Group D match between Australia and Denmark, the Aussies defeated the European side 1-0 to qualify for the second round at Qatar’s Al Janoub Stadium.

Despite have a ball possession percentage of 60 percent, Denmark suffered the loss. Australia held the ball at just 27 percent while 13 percent of the ball possession was in contest.

In the 60th minute, Australia’s Mathew Leckie scored a goal to set the Socceroos on the path to a win against the flow of the game.

In the other third match of the group Tunisia defeated defending champions France in vain as the latter had already qualified for the next round.
