FIFA Chief Extends Support for Migrant Workers Ahead of Football World Cup in Qatar

DOHA: FIFA head Gianni Infantino on Saturday expressed support for migrant workers in his opening presser of the Football World Cup in Qatar. The president of FIFA says that today he feels Qatari, Arab, African, disabled, and a migrant worker. Meanwhile, officials of Qatar said that Doha has been the target of double standards and racism.

FIFA World CUP will start by tomorrow

The FIFA World Cup starts off on Sunday (tomorrow) when Qatar takes on Ecuador in the opening match.

It may be recalled that FIFA World Cup’s 1st match will be played in the Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor between Qatar and Ecuador. The Al Bayt football stadium has a seating capacity for around 60,000 persons. 

Sixty-four matches will be played in eight different brand-new stadiums in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.   An estimated 1.2 million fans from across the globe will watch international tournament matches physically.

The World Cup’s final will be played on December 18, when the host country will also celebrate its “national day”. APP
