Another goalless match in FIFA 2022 World Cup being played in Qatar
A powerful United States dominated England in their World Cup Group B clash but will rue several missed chances as they were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw at Al Bayt Stadium on Friday.
England, unchanged from Monday’s 6-2 win over Iran, could seal their place in the knockout stages with a victory, but they were not careful in possession and often struggled. A young American team, full of pace and skill, kept England on their toes for most of the game.

The Three Lions, defeated by the United States in the 1950 World Cup, managed a second-half goal in the 87th minute, with just three shots in the entire game. It was Qatar’s fifth round which witnessed a draw match.
“It wasn’t our best performance,” England captain Harry Kane told ITV Sport after the match. “It was different in the game against Iran. We had two or three chances, but we didn’t put them aside. They pressed well – we knew before the game that they would come out and make it difficult for us.
