In FIFA 2022 World Cup clash England beat Wales by 3-0 to qualify for the next stage
Qatar: England qualified for the round of 16 of the FIFA 2022 World Cup after a thrilling second-leg win over Wales 3-0.
Gareth Southgate’s side dominated the first 45 minutes, but Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden made the difference with quick-fire braces just after half-time before Rashford put the icing on the cake with his second goal in the 68th minute.
The pair were more than happy with Southgate’s decision to promote them to the starting eleven, and England will now face Senegal – who have beaten Ecuador 2-1 earlier in Group B in the last 16.

For Wales, the first World Cup campaign since 1958 is over. Their encounter against the USA in the first round was promising for Rob Page’s team, but they were eventually defeated.
Marcus Rashford and Phil Foden scored on Tuesday to send England into the knockout stage of the World Cup 2022 with a 3-0 win over Wales. England manager Gareth Southgate opted to include both players in the starting lineup for the final Group B game, and they responded to the 3 goals – two from Rashford and the other from Foden.
England will face Senegal in the round of 16. Wales finished last in the group and was eliminated.
Southgate has faced calls to freshen up his squad after their 0-0 draw with the United States. He introduced Rashford and Foden in a fresh attack, and it worked.
England ended the game shortly after half-time, with Rashford scoring in the 50th minute and Foden adding another in the 51st. Rashford got his second when he scored in the box in the 68th.
