PESHAWAR: Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Mardan and anti-corruption department, in a joint operation, arrested two persons impersonating ministers and famous for making fake ID Cards for Afghans.
According to details shared by the officials of FIA Mardan, Muhammad Shafiq and his son Modaat Ali were arrested from Mardan Kachri Chowk. They were involved in preparation of fake documents and have a connection with the international Mafia.
The officials said the arrested accused used to prepare fake ID cards, Pakistani identity cards, Afghanistan Taskara, Pakistan domicile, and other documents against huge amounts of money.
Both suspects were arrested red-handedly by the authorities during the joint operation. Passports, identity cards, Afghan Taskara, Afghan food cards and other fake documents and stamps were also recovered from the possession of the accused, said the FIA officials.
The father and son were known as Interior Minister Mohammad Shafiq while his son was known as Defense Minister, the FIA officials added. —APP
