ISLAMABAD: Secretary Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Zafar Hassan, chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the current situation of Bird Flu disease in Pakistan.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from all the provinces and concerned departments, maintained in a press release.
Highlighting the current situation of Bird Flu disease in the country, Animal Husbandry Commissioner Dr. Khurshid Ahmad remarked that the disease is not yet reported from any location in the country. Although vaccination of Bird Flu is being carried out as a preventive and precautionary measure, he said.
Federal govt to take Prention against Bird Flue
Secretary of National Food Security and Research, Zafar Hassan, instructed the provincial officials to enhance the surveillance activities in their respective provinces/localities and send the required samples to the National Reference Laboratory for Poultry Diseases (NRLPD).
He also instructed the Animal Husbandry Commissioner to seek input from all the provinces on the Contingency Plan for Bird Flu. The incumbent Government will finalize the Contingency Plan and share it with the provinces for implementation soon.
