Federal Govt Announces Portfolios for New Cabinet Members

ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Monday announced the portfolios for its new cabinet members completing the governance restructuring process.

According to a notification issued by the cabinet division, Khawaja Asif has been designated as the Minister of Defence, Defense Production, and Aviation. Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar has been given the crucial portfolio of the Foreign Ministry.

Azam Nazir Tarar will head the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights. Ahsan Iqbal will be the Minister of Planning and Development, while Qaiser Sheikh to lead the Ministry of Maritime Affairs.

As per notification Attaullah Tarar has been entrusted with the portfolio of the Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting. Rana Tanveer Hussain will head the Ministry of Industries and Production, while Abdul Aleem Khan takes charge of the Privatization and Investment Board.

Mohammad Aurangzeb will be the country’s new Finance Minister. Owais Leghari will lead the Railway Ministry, while Riyaz Pirzada has been appointed as the Federal Minister of Housing, according to the notification.

Amir Maqam has taken charge of the Minister of State for Border Affairs and National Heritage. Chaudhry Salik Hussain has been appointed as the Minister of Immigration and Human Resources.

Ahmad Cheema has been entrusted with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, while Mohsin Naqvi becomes Federal Interior Minister.

Musadik Malik has been given the portfolio of the Petroleum Ministry and handed over an additional portfolio of Power.

Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, becomes the Federal Minister for Science and Technology while he has also been given an additional portfolio of Federal Education and Professional Training.

According to the notification Jam Kamal Khan has been assigned Ministry of Commerce.
