ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue office has suspended from service two Inland Revenue Service officers over the leaked tax record information of outgoing army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and his family.
Authorities said Deputy Commissioners Atif Nawaz and Zahoor Ahmad were suspended from service after initial investigations. Finance Minister Ishaq Dar had issued an order for inquiry about the leakage of tax details of outgoing army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and his family members.
Taking serious notice, he said this is a clear violation of the complete confidentiality of tax information that the law provides. Tariq Mehmood Pasha led an immediate investigation into the violation of FBR data, affixed responsibility, and submitted a report within twenty-four hours.
