KARACHI: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) chairman Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday urged the Muslim World to recall envoys from Sweden over the desecration of the Holy Quran.

Addressing a rally held against the burning of the Holy Quran, Fazl said that such acts were completely unacceptable for Muslims across the world as they themselves respect the holy scriptures of every religion.

He said that Muslims will sacrifice their life for the Holy Quran. “We will make their life hard if such acts do not stop in the Western world,” he warned.

JUI-F chief said that Islam was the red line for Muslims across the world and such incidents would not be tolerated in the future as Muslims consider it as an attack on their religion.

Earlier on Saturday, he had called for nationwide protests against the desecration of the Holy Quran in Sweden.

He said that the burning of the Holy Quran takes place in Sweden repeatedly, and it hurts the sentiments of the Muslims across the world.

Desecration of Quran in Sweden

It is to be noted that an Iraqi immigrant in Sweden desecrated the Holy Quran in Stockholm last week, resulting in wide condemnation from several countries, including Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Iraq, Turkiye, and Iran.

Sweden’s government also condemned the desecration of the Holy Quran in front of Stockholm’s main mosque, calling it an “Islamophobic” act.
