ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Fawad Chaudhry rushed back inside the premises of Islamabad High Court (IHC) moments after the court ordered his release to avoid his re-arrest at the hands of Punjab police.

Footage broadcast on television channels showed the PTI leader, clad in a shalwar kameez, getting into a white SUV. However, seconds later, Fawad disembarked and ran back inside the LHC premises while hunching over. Local media reported that Fawad did so because Punjab police had arrived outside the court to arrest him in another case.

Meanwhile, PTI shared a video of Fawad Chaudhry being escorted by lawyers, presumably inside the IHC. In the tweet, the party said that Fawad was abducted from the Supreme Court premises despite being granted bail. “Now, another attempt was made to abduct him from the IHC despite [Fawad] being granted bail.”
