ISLAMABAD: The Shab-e-Barat, a night of forgiveness, is being observed with religious reverence on Tuesday night across Pakistan.
On this blissful night, the majority of faithful are seeking forgiveness from Allah Almighty and the people whose rights were usurped, unconsciously or consciously.
Several people will also observe fasting on the very next day to express submissiveness in the court of Allah Almighty. Faithful are praying for Allah Almighty’s blessings and are begging His countless blessings for both worlds.
A large number of people from all schools of thought offered the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) on Shab-e-Barat by paying homage at the graves of their loved ones.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif urged the nation to pray for the progress and prosperity of the country on Shab-e-Barat, a night of forgiveness that falls on the 15th of the Holy month of Shaban.
On his Twitter handle, the prime minister felicitated the Muslim Ummah and prayed for the alleviation of the difficulties of flood-affected people of Pakistan and earthquake victims of Turkiye and Syria, besides an end to the sufferings of the Muslim brethren and sisters of the Indian Illegally Occupied Kashmir and Palestine.
Highlighting the significance of this sacred night, Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) Chairman Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi urged the people not to block the roads near the graveyards due to wrong parking, which causes a nuisance to the rest of the motorists.
Ashrafi, who is also a special assistant to the prime minister on interfaith harmony, urged the people to visit the graveyards to pay homage to their loved ones.
Ashrafi proposed that the faithful recite the Holy Qur’an and Darood Sharif and offer Nawafil to seek the maximum blessings of Allah Almighty on Shab-e-Barat.
