WASHINGTON: There is no evidence that American golfer Tiger Woods referred to U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris’ accent as “extremely offensive,” despite claims circulating online.

Social media posts have shared a fabricated quote attributed to Woods: “Kamala’s fake black accent is embarrassing and extremely offensive.”

No proof supports that Woods made this statement; it is absent from his website, social media accounts, or any official PGA Tour channels. Additionally, there are no credible news reports linking him to these comments.

The quote originated from a now-deleted post on X, shared by the account @PGATUOR, which identifies itself as a parody account. This account uses a modified PGA Tour logo and describes itself as “Voted ‘Best Twitter Golf Account’ Not for Boomers or Karens #Satire.”

The account has not responded to requests for comment. Representatives for Woods also did not reply to inquiries from Reuters.

VERDICT:

No evidence exists that Woods described Harris’ accent as “embarrassing” or “extremely offensive.”
