Fact Check: No Truth to News Regarding Removal of Urdu Subject

ISLAMABAD: Officials has rejected media repots about removal of Urdu subject at graduation level and termed it fake news.

In a statement, Pakistan’s Secretary for Education and Professional Training Mohyuddin Ahmed Wani has termed the rumors of excluding Urdu subjects at graduation level false and baseless.

He stated that the Urdu subject wasn’t being ruled out from graduation and Higher Education had rejected the rumors.

However, he said that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has been directed to issue its statement over the matter.

HEC Chairman Mukhtar Ahmad also asserted that Urdu had always been a compulsory subject till intermediate level.  Dr Mukhtar said that he would announce to issue a statement over the matter of Urdu subject soon.
