NEW YORK: The NFL has stated that online claims suggesting it would ban global pop star Taylor Swift from attending 10 games after her public endorsement of Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in September are false.

Swift has previously attended several NFL games to support her friend, Travis Kelce, who plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, contributing to increase viewership. According to entertainment magazine Rolling Stone, the singer was present at the Chiefs’ first game of the new season on September 5. Just five days later, she posted on social media in support of Harris shortly after the presidential debate on September 10.

One of facebook post claims, “Taylor Swift Faces a 10-Game NFL Ban Following Controversial Political Involvement.” However, the NFL has confirmed that this assertion is incorrect.

“No, it is not true,” stated Brian McCarthy, the NFL’s Chief Spokesman, via email. Swift attended an NFL game in Kansas City, Missouri, on September 15, following her endorsement of Harris. Swift’s representatives didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

VERDICT: False. The NFL has clarified that the claim of a 10-game ban for Taylor Swift after her endorsement of Harris is untrue.
