Hundreds of thousands of users across the world were unable to access platforms of Meta for about two hours. However, Meta owned WhatsApp remained unaffected.

People during that time faced error messages and were unable to refresh their feeds as normal.

Meta also apologised to its users saying it resolved the issue as fast as it could.

Meta’s social media platforms are one of the most popular in the world. Facebook has around three billion monthly users worldwide, while Instagram is expected to get 1.4 billion users this year.

The biggest outage of Meta occurred in 2021, when its founder Mark Zuckerberg had to apologise the users for the disruption. On the occasion Facebook, Messenger, Whatsapp and Instagram services were downed for almost six hours.
