BEIRUT: A war monitor said on Sunday that eights people, including three children, were killed in two separate incidents of violence in northern Syria.
One explosion hit a car repair shop in Shawa near the Turkish border, residents told the foreign media. In a statement, the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that as many as five people, including three children, were killed and ten others wounded in the blast.
Explosions Kill 8 in Syria
The areas held by proxies of different countries in northern Syria are the scene of regular, bombings targeted killings and clashes between different armed groups. In the second incident of violence, an explosive device planted in a car killed three men associated with SDF in the city of Manbij, Observatory said.
Manbij is a former stronghold of the ISIS group that is now held by a military council linked with the US-sponsored SDF. No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks. The civil war in Syria broke out in 2011 with the ruthless repression of anti-government protest demonstrations. It has since evolved into a very complex conflict involving foreign countries and militants has killed over half a million people and displaced millions, AFP reported.
