COLOMBO: Sri Lanka has announced squad for test against Afghanistan, local media reported on Wednesday. In February 2024, Sri Lanka is set to host Afghanistan for a multi-format tour, highlighted by a one-off Test match at the Colombo SSC from the 2nd to the 6th of February.
Newly appointed Test skipper Dhananjaya de Silva will lead the side, with Kusal Mendis serving as his deputy. The squad boasts seasoned campaigners such as Dimuth Karunaratne, Angelo Mathews, and Dinesh Chandimal.

The bowling department will be spearheaded by Kasun Rajitha, Ramesh Mendis, and Prabath Jayasuriya.
The Sri Lanka Test squad comprises Dhananjaya de Silva (c), Kusal Mendis (vc), Dimuth Karunaratne, Nishan Madushka, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Ramesh Mendis, Asitha Fernando, Vishwa Fernando, Kasun Rajitha, Kamindu Mendis, Prabath Jayasuriya, Lahiru Udara, Chamika Gunasekara, and Milan Rathnayake.
Adding to the media reports, three uncapped players at the Test level have earned their spots in the squad: Lahiru Udara, Chamika Gunasekara, and Milan Rathnayake. Udara brings his skills as a wicketkeeper-batter, while Gunasekara and Rathnayake bolster the pace attack.
