Everyday Covid Tests Decline in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The number of everyday Covid-19 tests has plunged from nearly 12,000 to over 8,000 as the country reported 46 more coronavirus infections and no death during the last 24 hours (Friday).

The figures released by the National Institute of Health (NIH) on Saturday morning, the death toll in the country remained the same at 30,626 whereas the number of total infections now rose to 1,574,326 after adding the fresh 46 cases. During the last 24 hours (Friday), 8,237 tests were conducted throughout Pakistan whereas the positivity ratio edged up to 0.56 percent.

The number of patients in critical care was recorded at 58. The six-day second phase of Covid vaccination campaign for children which started on Monday last will end today (Saturday). The campaign covered Islamabad and selected districts of Sindh and Punjab.

Minister for National Health Services Abdul Qadir Patel in a statement said that children were the future and it was our responsibility to protect them.
