BRUSSELS: European Union (EU) has expressed its willingness to work closely with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the issue of desecration of Holy Quan in European states.
During a press briefing, EU spokesperson for foreign affairs and security policy, Nabila Massrali said that the European body is ready to engage with the OIC on the incidents of burning of Quran in some European states.
She said the EU is in constant contact with OIC’s secretariat and their permanent mission in Brussels to know its future steps on the matter.

She refused to comment on a question to make such acts illegal however noted “we don’t believe that everything that is legal is ethical.”
Earlier the OIC’s Council of Foreign Ministers in a resolution strongly condemned such repeated acts that hurt the sentiments of the Muslim community.
