EU plans to cut emissions by 55% until 2030.

The European Union pledged at the UN climate talks on Tuesday that it will step up its commitment to reduce carbon emissions, insisting that the ban does not back down from the war in Ukraine.

According to APP, get ready for a new plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, the EU says it will be able to exceed its original plan to reduce emissions by 55% by 2030 with a new target of 57% from 1990 levels.

“The European Union is here to go forward, not back,” European Commission Vice President Frans Timmermans told delegates in the Egyptian resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh.

He denied that the blockade was on a “gas rush” in response to Russia’s oil exports to Ukraine. “So don’t let anyone here or outside tell you that the EU is going backwards,” he said.
