BRUSSELS: European Union leaders met on Thursday and took the decision to ask for the establishment of special corridors and breaks in Israeli brutal airstrikes to send direly needed help and aid to Gaza on an urgent basis, Western media reported.
EU Leaders Express Deep Concern Over Deteriorating Situation in Gaza
The leaders of the 27 EU nations expressed their deep concerns regarding the worsening humanitarian situation in the occupied Gaza which faces continued bombing from Israel after the October 7 Hamas operation in Israel. The expressed the concerns during a meeting in Brussels on Thursday.
They asked for help to rapidly and safely reach the people who need it, utilizing special routes with effective breaks in airstrikes on humanitarian grounds. The EU plans to work closely with partners in the region to protect civilian population and also provide things like water, food, medical care, shelter and fuel. “The EU will work closely with partners in the area to provide protection to civilian population, and help and facilitate access to water, food, medical care, shelter and fuel,” their statement further said.

In a statement, Palestine’s UN envoy stated that more than 3,000 children have been martyred by Israel since the strikes it launched on October 7 on Gaza. He said that 3,000 innocent children were martyred in Gaza during the last 3 weeks. The Ambassador said about 7,000 Palestinians have been martyred by Israeli brutal attacks in Gaza, adding that completely 70 percent of all those martyred are children and women. He termed it crimes and barbarism. He further said that about 1,600 Palestinians still lie under the debris, killed or wounded and no one can reach these people to bury them or save them.
