EU Envoy Meets Ayaz Sadiq, Discusses Expanding Cooperation

ISLAMABAD: European Union’s (EU) ambassador to Pakistan Dr Riina Kionka on Thursday called on the Economic Affairs Minister Sardar Ayaz Sadiq and discussed preparations, agenda items, and protocol of the upcoming thirteenth European Union–Pakistan Joint Commission, to be held in Brussels later this month.

The Economic Affairs Division said in a statement that the envoy appreciated the laudable execution of the recent International Partners Support Group meeting.

She also emphasized the necessity of continued coordination and alignment among the IPSG’s members and underlined the need for future endeavors that foster even greater synergy and collaboration.

On behalf of the Delegation of EU to Pakistan, the envoy extended condolences on the death of Ayaz Sadiq’s elder brother.

During the meeting, they also discussed matters of common interest and committed to exploring avenues for strengthened cooperation.

Ayaz Sadiq appreciates Pak-EU friendship

Sadiq appreciated the longstanding cooperation and friendship between the EU and Pakistan and lauded the EU’s continuous support of the economic development of Pakistan.

Both sides were satisfied with the progress achieved in the bilateral relations and reiterated their commitment to further expand cooperation.

They agreed to continue engaging in high-level meetings and take concrete actions to strengthen economic relations, enhance bilateral trade, and promote investment opportunities.
