BRUSSELS: The European Union (EU) has said that an investigation should be conducted into the killing of Palestinian civilians by Israeli military firing in the occupied West Bank. In a statement via Twitter, the block said that the Israeli army used excessive lethal force as 10 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli army during the last 72 hours.

The statement said that a probe must be conducted to ensure accountability for the killing of Palestinians by Israeli military firing in the occupied West Bank. It may be recalled that a video went viral via social media on Friday showing an Israeli army soldier shooting a civilian in Nablus city. The Palestinian man was later pronounced dead.
