BEIRUT: Hezbollah intensified its operations against Israeli military sites, marking the “most intense exchange of fire” since October 8, according to a security source.
Over a span of 12 hours, Hezbollah targeted nine Israeli sites and mourned four fighters killed in Israeli shelling in Beit Lif and Deir Aames.
Offensive operations escalated from Friday night to Saturday, including missile attacks on Israeli soldiers, military bases, and surveillance apparatus.
The security source described the recent military escalation as highly intense. Israel responded with machine gun fire, airstrikes, and artillery shelling on various Lebanese villages. In specific details, Hezbollah announced targeting Israeli soldiers near Al-Abbad, Doviv Barracks, and Khirbet Ma’ar military base. Burkan missiles were employed in the vicinity of Jal Al-Alam and Avivim settlement. Positions and soldiers near Metula were also targeted.

A Hezbollah sniper unit aimed at the surveillance apparatus on Israel’s Zar’it Barracks and soldiers on Cobra Hill. Subsequent attacks included targeting “spy equipment” in the Al-Bahri site. The security source noted that this exchange of shelling and rocket rounds was the most intense since October.
Israel responded with machine gun fire on the coastal border area of Ras Al-Naqoura. Warplanes conducted raids on Naqoura, Aita Al-Shaab, and Blida towns. Artillery shelling targeted the outskirts of villages including Houla, Al-Dhaira, Ayta ash Shab, and Tayr Harfa.
The heightened tensions led to a funeral procession for four Hezbollah fighters killed in Israeli raids on Beit Lif and Deir Aames. Hezbollah MP Hassan Ezzedine warned that the southern front would remain open to support Gaza and pledged resistance in case of any further developments.
As sirens sounded in Israeli settlements near the Lebanon border due to concerns about incoming drones, Hezbollah issued a stern warning. MP Mohammed Raad, leader of the Hezbollah parliamentary bloc, cautioned Israel against spreading aggression in Lebanon.
He emphasized the consequences of such actions and rejected any compromise on Lebanon’s stability, sovereignty, and right to its land. Raad’s statement came amid diplomatic efforts aiming to separate Lebanon’s southern border issues from events in Gaza and encourage a withdrawal of Hezbollah forces.
The situation remains tense, with both sides issuing warnings and engaging in military actions.
