LOS ANGELES: Renowned American actor Erik Jensen’s wife, Jessica Blank, has launched a fund-raising campaign after the actor has been diagnosed with stage four cancer, Western media reported on Wednesday.
She named the campaign ‘GoFundMe’ to cover the rising costs of medical bills of her husband’s treatment.
Erik’s wife earlier revealed to the media that The Walking Dead star has been diagnosed with stage four colorectal cancer.
She praised her husband for being strong and resilient. She stated that cancer had metastasized to the actor’s liver but doctors believed that the tumor could be reduced with two very major surgeries.
Erik has already survived a brain aneurysm one and a half years ago.
The actor’s wife has also expressed concern about the SAG-AFTRA strike that shut down Hollywood. She said countless actors were facing financial issues due to the lack of streaming residuals over the years.
Erik’s, fans has quickly responded to the campaign as it has been reported that an amount of $96000 has already been collected within a week, whereas the goal set by his wife is $300,000.
