After Azerbaijan’s rout of Armenian troops in a 24-hour blitz in Nagorno-Karabakh last week, Azerbaijan has hoped to open a land bridge between Nakhchivan and Azerbaijan.
President Erdogan said Azerbaijan and Turkey would do their best to open this trade corridor as soon as possible. The Zangezur corridor aims to provide Baku with unhindered access to Nakhchivan via Armenia. Both Turkey and Azerbaijan have been calling for its execution since the 2nd Karabakh War in 2020.
