ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan, a foreign office statement said on Sunday.
According to the statement President Erdogan during a telephone call warmly congratulated Prime Minister-elect and expressed hope that his well steer Pakistan on a path of progress and prosperity.
Prime Minister-elect thanked President Erdogan for his message and underlined the significance of the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Turkiye.
The two leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further enhance bilateral cooperation and collaboration in all areas.
Shehbaz Sharif emerged victorious in the National Assembly’s polling on Sunday securing 201 votes to become the country’s Prime Minister.
