ISLAMABAD: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has strongly condemned Indian air strikes on Pakistan and expressed solidarity with the government and the people of Pakistan.
Turkish President, during a phone conversation with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, conveyed his condolences for the tragic loss of life in the attacks and praised Pakistan’s commitment to maintaining peace in the region.
Erdogan reiterated Turkey’s solidarity with Pakistan, emphasising that the Turkish people stand with Pakistan’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and regional peace.
Prime Minister Sharif appreciated Turkey’s unwavering support for Pakistan, particularly in the face of India’s unprovoked aggression.
PM Shehbaz condemned India’s missile strikes, which claimed the lives of 31 innocent civilians, including men, women, and children.
He stated that these attacks not only violated Pakistan’s sovereignty but also posed a grave threat to peace and stability in South Asia, calling them completely unacceptable.
The Prime Minister further reaffirmed Pakistan’s firm rejection of India’s baseless accusations regarding the Pahalgam incident, noting that India has failed to provide any evidence to support its claims.
Pakistan has called for an impartial international investigation—an appeal India continues to ignore.
The prime minister emphasised that India’s aggressive posture and unwillingness to pursue diplomatic dialogue are fueling regional tensions.
In his conversation, Erdogan shared that Turkey’s Foreign Minister had recently spoken with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, to discuss the escalating situation. He assured Sharif that Turkey supports efforts to de-escalate the conflict and expressed readiness to play a constructive role in easing tensions.
President Erdogan concluded by expressing Turkey’s strong support for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts, affirming that the Turkish nation stands firmly with Pakistan in its pursuit of peace and stability.
