SINGAPORE: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Singapore, Rabia Shafiq, made a significant visit to the Asian Civilization Museum, where she was warmly received and given a comprehensive briefing on the museum’s impressive collection of artefacts.
Among these treasures were pieces from the ancient Gandhara civilization, known for its unique blend of Hellenistic and Indian influences that flourished in what is now Pakistan and parts of Afghanistan. The Gandhara collection at the museum includes intricate sculptures, coins, and pottery that reflect the artistic and cultural richness of this historical period.
During her visit, High Commissioner Shafiq engaged in an insightful dialogue with the museum’s director, exploring avenues for collaboration between the museum and relevant institutions in Pakistan. This discussion underscored the potential for cultural partnerships that could promote mutual understanding and appreciation of each other’s heritage.
