ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Mr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam, met with Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in the federal capital Islamabad on Friday.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest, including energy, economy, and security.
During the meeting, the premier emphasized the deep and fraternal relations between the two neighboring countries and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthen and deepen these ties. He underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation, particularly in the fields of economics and security.
Border Market to Enhance Iran and Pakistan Economic Ties
The Prime Minister also highlighted the recent inauguration of the Mand-Pishin border marketplace, noting that it would not only contribute to the economic development of the border areas but also symbolize the collective commitment to improving the well-being of both nations.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister pointed out that President Raisi’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy was in alignment with Pakistan’s vision for regional development and connectivity. He stressed the significance of both countries leveraging their unique geographical locations to advance shared objectives of regional peace and prosperity through increased trade and improved regional connectivity.
The Iranian Ambassador expressed Iran’s keen interest in building upon the recent positive trajectory of the bilateral relationship, with a particular focus on economy, energy, and security fields.
