England Cricket Team Unwell Ahead of First Test Match

ISLAMABAD: England’s cricket team captain Ben Stokes and other important players have fallen ill ahead of the first Test match to be played in Rawalpindi on Thursday (tomorrow).

According to the sources, the symptoms of the players affected by the fever flu virus are similar to Covid-19 due to which the players have been confined to their rooms. Last night the England captain and players attended the British High Commissioner’s dinner.

When contacted, Danny Ruban Head of Team Communications of the English team said,’ “It’s a viral/bug with symptoms related to that”.

Earlier, today morning several players and staff members, including England captain Ben Stokes, were feeling unwell and they have been advised to stay at the hotel. Today, as per schedule,e the Pakistan and England captains – Babar Azam and Ben Stokes were supposed to unveil the trophy at 12:30 pm followed by a media conference that has been postponed. The first match of the three-Test series between Pakistan and England is scheduled for December 1 at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi.
