KARACHI: Veteran Pakistani artist Qavi Khan has died due to a prolonged illness, local media reported on Sunday.
Qavi Khan Passes Away in Canada
Arts Council Karachi President Muhammad Ahmad Shah confirmed his sad demise late on Sunday. Shah referred to Khan as a “great artist who had left a permanent mark on the industry. According to media reports, the time and place of his funeral prayers will be announced soon. Qavi Khan was in Canada for his medical treatment. Khan was 80.

Qavi Khan received Nishan-i-Imtiaz, the highest civil award in the country, for his outstanding services in the field of showbiz industry. Born in Peshawar, Qavi Khan started his career in the 1960s and quickly rose to fame due to his talent and dedication to his craft. Qavi Khan was one of the most respected actors in Pakistan. He had a career spanning over 40 years and had showcased his talent in every medium of entertainment, be it theatre, radio, and television.
