MUMBAI: The stage is set for a thrilling encounter in the final of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025, where India will take on South Africa at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy on Sunday. Both teams will be vying for their first-ever Women’s World Cup title in what promises to be a historic clash.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the final, with Eloise Sheridan and Jacquline Williams set to officiate as on-field umpires. Both officials have been integral throughout the tournament, with Williams notably officiating during South Africa’s stunning 125-run semi-final win over England.
Sheridan and Williams were also part of the officiating team during the group-stage match between the two finalists on October 9, where South Africa pulled off a remarkable run chase to defeat India.
Completing the officiating team, Sue Redfern will take on the role of Third Umpire, Nimali Perera will serve as the Fourth Umpire, and Michelle Pereira has been appointed as the Match Referee.
The much-anticipated final is scheduled to start at 15:00 local time, marking the end of an enthralling tournament filled with unforgettable moments. The game will not only decide the winner of the 2025 Women’s World Cup but will also etch new records in the history of women’s cricket.
