ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, the caretaker government decided to use the allocation for IPPs in the budget to give relief in electricity bills, said by the Finance Ministry.
Sources within the Ministry of Finance revealed that during discussions with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the government proposed a fresh plan aimed at alleviating the burden of electricity bills from the masses.
“In a move to address the issue of high electricity bills, the government has chosen to redirect more than 15 billion rupees initially earmarked for IPPs,” according to sources.
