ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar declared on Wednesday that the elections could not be held in ninety days even if funds are released.

While speaking on the National Assembly floor, the minister said various issues emerged due to the dissolution of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab assemblies. He said the government could not violate the Constitution by releasing funds on the court’s order.

He further said that the incumbent government did not push Pakistan into crisis, but the previous PTI government plunged the nation to the brink of collapse. He said that the country witnessed Panama and Dawn Leaks dramas during the past 5 years, adding that the country would not have been in crisis if he had been listened. The minister said those who ruined the country should be exposed to the public.

Dar claimed that “the apex court also interfered in the domain of politicians,” adding that if Article 63-A had not been redefined, the provincial assemblies would not have been dissolved.
