Elections 2024: Independent Candidates Win 98, PPP 51, PML-N 67 Out of 241 Announced by ECP So Far

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced the provisional results of 241 National Assembly seats, local media reported. As per unofficial and unconfirmed results, PPP has won 51 seats and PML-N 67 National Assembly seats while independent secured 98 seats. MQM got 15 NA seats as yet.

The results of 24 NA seats are still awaited; polls were postponed in the NA-8 constituency due to the deaths of contesting candidates. As per unofficial and unconfirmed results of different national and provincial assemblies in Sindh are being received, hinting that the Pakistan People’s Party is leading in the majority of the constituencies.

According to provincial results of ECP, PPP candidate Sadiq Ali Memon won from NA-225 Thatta with 140,773 votes. ECP announced that PPP candidate Nazeer Ahmed Bughio has also won NA-195 (Larkana), after gathering a total of 133,830 votes. GDA’s Safdar Ali Abbasi came in 2nd with 48,893.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and former Shehbaz Sharif has won from NA-123 Lahore-VII following beating Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-backed (PTI) Afzaal Azeem Pahat, as per unofficial and unconfirmed results. Shehbaz took 63,953 votes, while Pahat secured 48,486 votes, the preliminary results suggested. As per unofficial results, PML-N’s Hamza Shehbaz has also won NA-118 in Lahore-II with 105,960 votes, according to the unofficial results. Aliya Hamza Malik, a PTI-backed independent candidate, came a close second with 100,803 votes.
