Elaborate Security Plan in Place for Independence Day

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police has made a comprehensive security and traffic plan for Independence day falling on Monday (today).

Additional security staff will be deployed at important installations besides public places.

The federal capital will be checked by sniffer dogs and security equipment particularly green areas in  Daman-e-Koh, Margalla Hills and Pir Sohawa.

Plain clothes security staff will give additional surveillance to police in holding the event in befitting manner.

The minimize the risks police pickets will be placed on all major roads and various security zones will be formed in the city for Independence Day.

The entry and exit points of federal capital will have additional presence of Rangers, Frontier Constabulary and Islamabad Police.

“All points are covered and are under watchful eyes of officials,” said a source in police department.

“People coming to Islamabad should have their identity cards or other documents on them so that they should move without any hassle as additional efforts are done to make the Independence Day a memorable event.”

Islamabad Capital Police (Traffic Division) has made an elaborate traffic plan to ensure smooth traffic flow across the city.

A Superintendent of Police (SP), four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), and 22 inspectors have been assigned duties as public from all over Pakistan is likely to celebrate the event and throng the capital.

Special squads are there to stop traffic rule violators namely one wheeling youngsters, reckless drivers and individuals having blaring horns.

ICTP Radio FM 92.4 will also provide real-time traffic updates for the commuters.
