PESHAWAR: Eight terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation conducted by Pakistan’s military in the Zarmilan area of South Waziristan district of Pakistan’s northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, the military media wing ISPR said in a press release.
The operation, which took place after receiving credible intelligence reports, led to an intense exchange of fire between the terrorists and the security forces, ISPR stated.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the terrorists were actively involved in carrying out terrorist activities against the security forces as well as innocent citizens.
The security forces effectively engaged the terrorists and recovered weapons and ammunition from their location.

During the intense exchange of fire, Lance Naik Shoaib Ali and Sepoy Rafi Ullah, who fought gallantly, embraced martyrdom while defending their motherland.
Lance Naik Shoaib Ali, aged 25 and a resident of Parachinar, Kurram district, and Sepoy Rafi Ullah, aged 22 and a resident of Lakki Marwat district, made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.
The sanitization process of the area is underway to eliminate any other terrorists found in the region. The security forces of Pakistan remain determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers only strengthen our resolve.
