Eight Iraqi Police Personnel Killed in Bomb Blast

KIRKUK: At least eight personnel of Iraqi federal police were killed after a bomb blast targeted their convoy southwest of Kirkuk, the oil-rich city, on Sunday, said the security sources.

According to the Arab News, the blast occured near the village of Safra that lies about 30km southwest of Kirkuk, according to the sources.

Blast leaves two personnel injured

They added that two other policemen were critically wounded in the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. It is to mention here that Daesh militants are active in the area. In December 2017, Iraq declared victory over the group which once held large swathes of the country.
