ISLAMABAD: As the holy festival of Eidul Fitr approaches, all arrangements have been finalized in Pakistan and other regional countries to facilitate the faithful on this auspicious occasion. The festival is set to be celebrated tomorrow, on April 22, 2023, in Pakistan, following the announcement of the official moon-sighting committee.
Prominent religious scholars will lead the congregational Eid prayers, where they will shed light on the Islamic teachings of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). Special prayers will also be offered for sustainable development, prosperity, and progress of the homeland, Pakistan.
To ensure the cleanliness of the Eidgahs, mosques, Imambargah, parks, and commercial areas, relevant departments have made appropriate arrangements for cleaning and sprinkling limestone powder. Operations will run without any break while public complaints will also be redressed promptly.
The largest Eid prayer gathering in Islamabad will be held at Faisal Mosque, while the largest Eid prayer gathering in Karachi will be held at 8 am in Old Polo Ground in the city. Before the Eidul Fitr prayer, the Eidgah and its surroundings will be sprayed with fragrance.
Eidul Fitr holidays
The government has announced a five-day public holiday from Friday till Tuesday, April 25, in view of Eid celebrations. The faithful are expected to celebrate the festival with their families and loved ones.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has already announced that the holiday of Eidul Fitr will begin on Friday in the kingdom, as the official moon-sighting committee confirmed the sighting of the crescent moon in the country.
As the festival marks the end of Ramadan, Muslims across the world will celebrate this special occasion with religious zeal and fervor, offering prayers, distributing sweets and gifts, and spending time with their loved ones.
