Egypt’s President Declares Full Support for Palestinian Cause

CAIRO: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has reaffirmed his country’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause during a phone call with Palestinian Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas.

During the conversation held on Wednesday, President El-Sisi emphasized Egypt’s “full support” for Palestine and highlighted the nation’s ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in the besieged Gaza Strip. He also reiterated Cairo’s steadfast support for the Palestinian people’s right to establish an independent state.

In response, Mahmoud Abbas expressed gratitude for Egypt’s tireless endeavors in seeking peace in the region and conveyed his blessings to the Egyptian people as they observe the holy month of Ramadan.

President El-Sisi further engaged in diplomatic exchanges, extending Ramadan greetings during a phone call with the president of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan. Both leaders exchanged warm wishes and expressed hopes for prosperity and well-being for the Egyptian and Sudanese populations during this sacred time.

Later, President El-Sisi held a similar conversation with Syrian President Bashar Assad, exchanging Ramadan greetings and extending wishes for security, stability, and prosperity for both Egypt and Syria.
