As per the statement from the president’s office, after the meeting of the council, Egypt rejected any plan to displace Palestinians to the detriment of other countries saying that Egypt’s own security was a red line.

El-Sisi during the meeting also proposed a summit to discuss the crisis in Gaza. The statement said Egypt extends an invitation to host a global and regional conference to address the developments and future of the Palestinian issue.

The council stressed that a two-state solution is the only viable solution to the Palestinian cause. It dismissed attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause at the expense of neighboring states.

The council called for continued engagements with international and regional partners to de-escalate the situation and protect civilians. It added that it was necessary to increase contacts with international and regional relief organizations to provide much-needed assistance to Gaza.

The council emphasized Egypt’s willingness to exert any effort to achieve peace and resume a genuine peace process.
