CAIRO: EgyptAir has announced that it will operate its first direct flight from Cairo to Port Sudan starting next month, Arab media reported.
In a statement, the Egyptian civil aviation ministry said on Tuesday that the country’s airline will resume flights from September 1st.
The development comes following Sudanese officials re-opened the airspace in the eastern sector of the country after closing the entire airspace since April 15 due to war broke out in the African country.
Since then, evacuation and humanitarian flights have operated out of Port Sudan airport on the Red Sea coast.
