Khan’s supporters clashed outside his residence at Zaman Park.

The situation remains tense in Lahore, and authorities were closely monitoring the situation to ensure the safety of life and property.

A heavy contingent of police has reached Imran Khan’s residence to arrest him and present him before the court.

To defend their party chief, PTI workers, some reportedly armed with wooden clubs and catapults, have gathered outside his Zaman Park residence.

As per media reports, tear gas shells and pieces of bricks littered the pavement as PTI workers retaliated with batons they had brought to resist police.

About 51 police officers and some 35 PTI activists were reportedly injured during the clashes that lasted for over 14 hours. Later, several PTI activists were also taken into custody for violence and targetting the law enforcers.

The clashes continued for hours as the police teams reached the PTI chief’s house, where the workers kept pelting them with stones from inside the house.

Khan, who was ousted from power last year, had been summoned to appear before a judge in Islamabad to respond to charges of illegally selling gifts he had received from Toshakhana as the prime minister.

Meanwhile, Imran Khan said on Wednesday that hope lies with the establishment to end the “farce” as police and law enforcement agencies made their final push to his Zaman Park residence.

The stalemate between PTI supporters and police continued for a second consecutive day on Wednesday as the law enforces made a fresh attempt to arrest Khan in connection with the Toshakhana case.

Earlier, police attempted to enter Imran’s residence but were thwarted by PTI supporters, who pelted stones at the security personnel. In response, police fired tear gas shells at the protesters.
