ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that strict action would be taken against those trying to create hurdle in the way to impartial elections.
In a statement on Sunday, the polling day for 8 national assembly and 3 Punjab Assembly seats, it said that the concerned provincial election commissioners have been directed to immediately arrest if someone tried to influence the polling process.
It said if an official was found involved in rigging, he would not only be arrested right away but proceeded against under the law and his case would be referred to the ECP for further action.
